Description
A serial killer has one obsession . . .
Claire Lambert walked into a nightmare on a rainy night in Washington, D.C. Stumbling upon a killer in the midst of his latest bloody crime, she ran for her life -- but not before a head injury caused her to lose her memory, along with her purse and ID. Now a monster knows who Claire is . . . and where she lives.
Waking up in a hospital room the day after being attacked -- her mind stripped of all memory of what happened to her -- Claire can only listen with horror to the scenario Detective Sean Richter unfolds before her. A law officer fiercely dedicated to ending the wave of brutal killings that has struck the city, Sean knows that this brave and beautiful woman holds the key to stopping the murderer before he can strike again. Claire is the only victim who has seen the killer's face and lived -- which is why Sean needs her help and will risk everything to protect her . . .
And why a depraved, relentless animal is determined that Claire Lambert must die.

Summary: "Unreadable"
I almost never stop reading a book a quarter of the way through but I bought this book because I thought it was a crime/suspense novel and it turned out to be a lousy romance with a tacked on twisted murderer. The overarching story was the romance between the detective who falls in love with the gorgeous, unconscious victim (boundaries much?) and the gutsy gal with the "dancing black eyes" (what does that even mean?) Gaak. Sadly for me, I bought both this author's novels at the same time. I'm glad to see she gave up writing.

Summary: "Intense and exciting, despite lacking a bit in relationship development"
VERY intense and exciting; I had a really hard time putting it down. I did think it was interesting though that she didn't ever regain her memory of that night; I wonder how often that's the case. I really liked all the characters though, and it had a lot of laugh out loud moments. The only thing I would have added is to have seen more of a relationship develop between Claire and Sean outside of the bedroom, although it was better in that respect than most romantic suspense novels. Very good read, if not perfect; I will definitely be picking up another Lowell book soon. Recommended.

Summary: "Really loved this book"
I bought this book years ago and read it. It is one of those books that I have read multiple times throughout. I really liked the way it was written, the story line was interesting, and I finished it before I realized how quickly I was reading it. I will definably keep this on the shelf to pick up again later on.

Summary: "It was ok.........."
Overall I'd have to say that the book was well written and the fact that Claire is being followed by a killer who knows where she lives made this book an instant page turner. I like the chareacter descriptions. I felt like I had a clear picture of what the characters looked like and what their personalities were like. However, the closer I got to the end the more the story began to drag. There were moments in which it did not seems logical for the killer to know where she was was and I was not thoruoghly convinced that he would care that much about finding her. Being from DC myself, I think the author did a poor job of making me feel like this story took place in DC as opposed to any random place. Yeah, she dropped a few names of neighborhoods here and there but they were all like within a 2 mile radius of one another. Perhaps my knowledge of the city spoiled the book for me. I kept thinking to myself, "Claire if you just left your neighborhood for once maybe the killer wouldn't be able to find you so easily.....Hello!" It's a good read if you want something light that you dont have to concentrate on.
