Wind Up/Solar AM FM Radio Dynamo Power

Description

With the Dynamo or Solar Radio Flashlight you will never have to worry about dead batteries during a power outage. Although this combination radio and flashlight can use regular batteries they are not necessary. It can be powered by turning a foldaway hand crank or it can use sunlight to generate power. It performs three separate functions and is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. The flashlight will allow you to see clearly outdoors at night or during a power outage. In an emergency, the siren and flashing light can be used to summon help. The AM/FM radio with built-in speaker and telescopic antenna provides great reception for listening to your favorite music or to official broadcasts during an emergency. Can also be powered by two AA batteries (not included). Dimensions are L 9" x H 6" x W 2 3/4".

Summary: "good value"

This product is a nice color and size for the price. The quality of the plastic seems a little cheap so you wouldn't want it to get too banged around but it works well and has both the wind up and solar feature which makes it nice to keep handy in case of an emergency. We get power outages during storms so it is perfect for that and has a decent radio.

Summary: "Great when the power is out!"

I have had this radio for years, it was given to my children as a Christmas gift. This is no toy. It has saved us countless times over the years from being "cut off" during power outages, especially when everything is down and cell phones are jammed. It does not need a plug adaptor and does not need to be charged before using. Just make sure to set it to 'dynamo charging' and make sure the radio is off before cranking. There is even a red indicator light to tell you when you are getting a sufficient charge. Once you get it going, it last for about an hour, sometimes longer, before you have to crank it up again. When not in use, I would recommend setting it to solar charge and then leaving it in a sunny window. It will be ready for the next time you need it. It may look like a toy but this thing is a lifesaver!

I got this as a gift. Easy to use. You do not need an electric adaptor to work it.
The flashlight, radio and siren alarm work great. I am ready to buy a 2nd one to leave at work for emergency. If I had a car, I would buy one to leave it in there for emergencies also. Hand crank is easy to use. An excellent product to have just in case.

This light/radio seems to work OK once initially charged. However, before the hand crank or solar feature can be used it must be charged for 5 hours using a 12 volt AC adaptor. This adaptor is NOT included with the product and must be purchased seperately.
